Imo State Police Summon MASSOB Leader Amidst Calls for Nnamdi Kanu's Release

The Imo State Police Command has summoned Ralph Uwazuruike, the leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), to appear before the Anti Kidnap Unit in Owerri on October 20, 2025. This summons comes as civil society organizations plan nationwide peace protests calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Uwazuruike has been accused of criminal invasion and forgery, which he denies. Despite the police invitation, Uwazuruike has expressed willingness to engage in protests supporting Kanu's release, emphasizing non-violence and peaceful advocacy for Biafra's self-determination.
