Goodluck Jonathan Warns Against Reckless Political Behavior at 68th Birthday Event

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan cautioned against unruly conduct in politics, stressing the importance of responsible leadership in nation-building during an event commemorating his 68th birthday and the 10th anniversary of the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation. He highlighted that sustainable democratic stability requires civil and genuine accountability from political actors.

Jonathan expressed concern over the increasing aggressive and hostile political behavior that weakens democratic resilience across Africa. He also reflected on the foundation's decade-long focus on diplomacy, governance reform, peacebuilding, and strengthening democratic institutions.

Additionally, he urged leaders at all levels to prioritize citizen safety and protect the nation's democratic order amidst recent violent attacks and abductions.
