Pope Leo XIV Urges Release of 315 Abducted Niger Students and Teachers

Pope Leo XIV has demanded the immediate release of 315 individuals, including students, teachers, and priests, who were abducted from St. Mary's Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwarra Local Government Area of Niger State.

The pontiff expressed profound sorrow and made a heartfelt plea for the swift and unconditional release of those held captive. The attack, carried out by armed men who invaded the school premises, resulted in casualties and a significant number of abductions, raising concerns about the safety of the victims.
