PDP Crisis Escalates as State Congresses Postponed, Leadership Disagreement Arises

The PDP faced internal crisis as state congresses in Rivers, Kebbi, and Plateau states were postponed, reigniting tensions within the party ahead of the November 15 Elective National Convention. The National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, disagreed on the postponement decision.

Damagum's National Working Committee (NWC) cited unforeseen circumstances for the delay, while Anyanwu insisted the congresses should proceed as planned. This disagreement highlighted the ongoing challenges within the party leadership, adding complexity to the party's preparations for the upcoming convention.
