Presidency Clarifies: Tinubu Won't Influence EFCC, ICPC on Corruption Probe

The Nigerian Presidency has stated that Bola Tinubu will not direct the EFCC and ICPC in their investigations into corruption allegations against Farouk Ahmed, former CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, and Aliko Dangote, the President and CEO of Dangote Industries Limited. Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga emphasized the independence of the EFCC and ICPC, dismissing criticism of the lack of formal investigations following Ahmed's resignation.

Onanuga reiterated that the President cannot dictate how these anti-corruption agencies handle such matters, highlighting their autonomy and statutory mandates.
