This comes amidst concerns over the recent abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State and renewed attacks by extremist groups across the country. The partnership with the United States in counter-terrorism efforts, including training by American special forces during the peak of the Boko Haram insurgency, is highlighted as crucial.

Despite international scrutiny, Nigeria asserts its sovereignty in collaborating on counter-terrorism initiatives.
