Tonye Cole Urges Nigerian Govt to Privatize Refineries for Better Efficiency

Tonye Cole, the Rivers State Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2023 general election, has urged the Nigerian government to privatize all public refineries. Cole emphasized the need for the government to keep a stake in the privatization to ensure the people's interests are represented.

He highlighted that privatizing the refineries and allowing competition would drive better efficiency in meeting Nigeria's refinery demands. Cole made these remarks during an interview on the Politics Today program on Channels Television.

He stressed the importance of putting the refineries in the hands of the people to make them functional and meet the country's needs adequately.
