Femi Falana Urges AGF to Prosecute Soldiers and Terrorism Financiers

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has written to the Attorney General of Nigeria demanding the immediate prosecution of 10 soldiers accused of killing three police officers in Taraba State in August 2019. He also called for the prosecution of 400 individuals allegedly involved in financing terrorism in Nigeria, particularly linked to Boko Haram.

Falana emphasized that terrorism is not subject to statute limitations and urged the re-arrest and prosecution of the soldiers and financiers to enhance national security interests. The letter also highlighted the failure of the Nigerian authorities to prosecute the suspects despite significant recoveries and the need to strengthen counter-insurgency efforts.
