Nigerian Lawmakers Reject Gazetted Tax Laws Over Discrepancies

The discrepancies have sparked concerns about the breach of legislative privilege and the erosion of public trust in the government.

Hon. Fagg highlighted the need for wider consultations before passing tax bills to ensure transparency and proper scrutiny.

The differences in the gazetted version and the approved version have raised controversies, particularly regarding the transfer of powers among the legislative, judiciary, and executive branches, notably within the Nigeria Revenue Service Act.
