Quadri Aruna Exits Muscat Contender After Defeat to Romania's Ionescu

Nigerian table tennis player Quadri Aruna was eliminated from the Muscat Contender tournament after a close defeat to Romania's Eduard Ionescu. The match, held at the Sultan Qaboo Sport Complex, saw Aruna lose 3-2 after a fierce battle.

Aruna, the ninth seed, struggled initially but fought back before ultimately falling to Ionescu in a nail-biting finish. Meanwhile, Egypt's Omar Assar also advanced in the men's singles event.

The tournament features a total prize purse of $300,000.
