RCCG Pastor Supports Fine for Preaching in Vehicles

Remmi Hazzan, a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has expressed his support for a proposed amendment to the law that would impose a N50,000 fine for preaching inside commercial vehicles. During a radio program, Hazzan stated that preaching in such settings distracts drivers, which could endanger lives.

He mentioned that the church should reorient its members to comply with the Federal Road Safety Corps' proposed amendment to the bill, which is expected to receive presidential assent in 2026. Hazzan clarified that while the Bible does not prohibit preaching in buses, it is essential to respect the law.

He urged church members to focus on good governance and provide moral guidance in public office, emphasizing that distractions while driving could lead to accidents, thus affecting everyone in the vehicle.
