REA Allocates ₦9 Billion for Mini-Grid Projects in Nigeria

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has announced the disbursement of ₦9 billion to support renewable energy projects across Nigeria. This includes ₦7.95 billion allocated to Havenhill for the financing of four mini-grid power projects in Taraba, Kwara, and Kogi states.

Additionally, ₦1.056 billion has been released to Faraday to facilitate mini-grid deployment across three sites in Niger State. This funding follows REA's recent announcement of ₦7.4 billion financing for Ventura Logistics Services and ₦3.2 billion for Zanoplu, aimed at enhancing access to renewable energy through a performance-based grant framework.

Dr. Abba Aliyu, the Managing Director of REA, emphasized the importance of consistent capital injection into Nigeria's renewable sector, which is expected to empower local companies and improve electricity access. The agency remains committed to fostering local partnerships and ensuring reliable power delivery across communities.
