Mourinho's Advice to Vinicius After Racism Complaint

During the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 playoff first leg on Tuesday, Real Madrid won 1-0 against Benfica, thanks to a goal from Vinicius. However, the match was marred by troubling incidents of alleged racism directed at Vinicius.

After scoring, Vinicius celebrated by dancing in front of Benfica's home fans, prompting them to throw objects at him. Following this, referee Francois Letexier issued Vinicius a yellow card.

For nine minutes, Vinicius was seen discussing the situation with Letexier, alleging that Benfica's Gianluca Prestianni had made racist remarks. After the match, Mourinho, the Benfica manager, spoke with Vinicius on the pitch, stating that he saw two completely different things regarding the incident.

Mourinho advised Vinicius to celebrate his goals and not to engage in arguments about racism, referencing Eusebio, a prominent black figure in Benfica's history, to highlight the club's legacy against racism.
