Nigerian Forward Fago Lawal Joins Viktoria Plzeň in Record Signing Deal

Fago Lawal, a 23-year-old Nigerian forward, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Czech club Viktoria Plzeň, making him the club's most expensive signing. Lawal, who recently made his debut for the Nigerian national team at AFCON 2025, replaces his compatriot Rafiu Durosinmi, who left for Pisa 9m in a record sale.

Lawal's transfer fee is reported to be €2.4 million, with an additional €0.6 million in potential add-ons. NK Istra 1961, Lawal's former club in Croatia, will retain 10% of any future transfer fee.

Viktoria Plzeň's sport director, Martin Vozábal, expressed excitement about Lawal's arrival, highlighting his versatility and goal-scoring ability. Lawal, known for his pace and attacking prowess, aims to strengthen Plzeň's attacking options as the club competes in domestic and European competitions.
