9ice Critiques Religion's Impact on Nigeria's Progress

In a recent interview with Nanci Isim aired on Gold Myne TV, Nigerian singer Alexande Adegbola Akande, popularly known as 9ice, expressed his belief that foreign religions, specifically Christianity and Islam, have not significantly improved Nigeria. He highlighted that despite the high frequency of prayers and religious gatherings, the country continues to face severe security and economic challenges. 9ice argued that people in the United Kingdom are less religious yet prosper, contrasting this with Nigerians who travel to religious sites like Mecca while the nation remains stagnant.

He lamented that many Nigerians spend excessive time in church without addressing pressing issues. Additionally, he revealed that he became a traditionalist and Ifa priest after experiencing spiritual attacks that caused him to vomit blood for six months, expressing regret for not adopting this path earlier.
