Renowned Nigerian Journalist Dan Agbese Dies at 81

Renowned Nigerian journalist, Dan Agbese, known for his pioneering investigative journalism, has died at the age of 81. Agbese, co-founder of Newswatch Magazine, was highly respected in the Nigerian media landscape for his decades-long practice.

He played a significant role in shaping modern journalism in the country. Agbese, born on May 12, 1944, in Agila, Benue State, held a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Lagos and Columbia University in New York.

His notable works include columns, style guides, and editor roles in various newspapers. Agbese is survived by his wife, Chief Rose Agbese, six children, and seven grandchildren.

Burial arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
