Richarlison Questions De Zerbi's Omission Against Liverpool

Richarlison has publicly questioned Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi's decision to leave him out of the Carabao Cup tie against Liverpool on Tuesday. The Brazilian striker expressed his disappointment on social media, sharing a screenshot of the announcement with the message, “Why?” and a sad emoji.

This reaction comes amid uncertainty regarding his future at Tottenham following the collapse of a proposed transfer to Brazilian club Vasco da Gama, where Tottenham had reportedly agreed on a fee, but personal terms could not be finalized before Brazil's transfer window closed. Additionally, a £35 million move to Everton also fell through due to failed personal terms.

De Zerbi stated that he had attempted to convince Richarlison to stay and extend his contract, but the player declined. Richarlison was omitted from Tottenham's 25-man Premier League squad amid disputes over his contract, which expires next summer, although the club has an option to extend it by another year.

Tottenham is currently struggling, having failed to score in their first four league matches.
