Rivers State Head of Service Attributes Secretariat Fire to Electrical Fault

Rivers State Head of Service, Inyingi Brown, attributed the fire at the state secretariat's Podium Block to an electrical fault following a preliminary investigation. Brown advised civil servants to switch off electrical appliances before leaving the office to prevent future incidents.

He praised Governor Siminalayi Fubara for rehabilitating the Rivers State Fire Service, preventing a worse outcome. Brown assured that Governor Fubara would announce actions taken regarding the fire incident soon.

He clarified that the fire did not affect the Pension Board as earlier speculated but noted that the Civil Servants Clinic was affected. The timely response of the fire service was commended.
