RMAFC and NOUN Forge Partnership for Fiscal Reforms

On July 29, 2026, Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu, the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), met with Professor Oduma Orji Oduma, the Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), along with the university's management team at RMAFC's Headquarters in Abuja.

Dr. Shehu reaffirmed RMAFC's commitment to strategic partnerships that promote evidence-based fiscal reforms and capacity building.

He acknowledged the importance of collaboration between government institutions and academia in addressing Nigeria's fiscal challenges. Dr.

Shehu assured the delegation that RMAFC would evaluate NOUN's requests regarding its operational model and remuneration concerns, including a comprehensive job evaluation and fiscal impact analysis for ODL personnel. Professor Oduma proposed establishing a Centre for Fiscal Studies and Policy for Revenue Studies to support research and policy development.

He also highlighted NOUN's capabilities in digital learning and capacity-building programs for public servants.
