Real Madrid confirmed that 25-year-old winger Rodrygo has sustained a serious knee injury, specifically an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which will sideline him for several months. This injury occurred during a La Liga match on Monday, where Real Madrid faced Getafe and lost 1-0.

Rodrygo, who came off the bench in the second half, underwent a medical examination the following day that revealed the full extent of the damage. As a result, he will miss the upcoming World Cup, where he was expected to represent the Brazil National Football Team in their pursuit of a record sixth title.
