Ronaldo Celebrates Messi's International Farewell Match

Cristiano Ronaldo honored Lionel Messi after Messi's last international appearance for Argentina, which ended in a 3-0 friendly victory against Benin. In this match, Messi scored one goal and assisted two others.

Following the game, Messi reflected on the occasion in an Instagram post, marking it as a significant moment, especially after previously stating that ending his international career would be the "saddest day" of his career. Ronaldo, aged 41, responded to Messi's post with admiration, stating, “Leo, so many years defending your country and a story that will last forever.

All my respect for what you have achieved with Argentina. A hug.” The two football legends have been dominant figures in the sport for over two decades, collectively winning 13 Ballon d’Or awards—Messi with eight and Ronaldo with five.

They both participated in the recent FIFA World Cup, where Messi led Argentina to the final, while Ronaldo's Portugal was eliminated in the last 16.
