Ronaldo Nets 980th Goal in Al-Nassr's 3-0 Win
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 980th career goal during Al-Nassr’s 3-0 victory over Diriyah in the Saudi Pro League on October 9, 2026. The 41-year-old forward opened the scoring in the 23rd minute at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, bringing him closer to the historic 1,000-goal milestone.
Ronaldo's goal came after he reacted quickly to a rebound from a powerful shot by Kingsley Coman, which was parried by Diriyah goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah. This goal marked Ronaldo’s fourth in the league for the season.
Al-Nassr extended their lead in the 35th minute when Samú Costa scored from a corner taken by João Félix. Coman later added a third goal in the 77th minute, sealing the victory.
This match marked Ronaldo’s return to club football following a controversial international break with the Portugal National Team, where he had a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus. The win also reinforced Al-Nassr's position in the league title race.
