Rowe Takes Lookman's No. 11 Jersey at Atalanta

English forward Rowe has been handed the number 11 shirt at Atalanta, a jersey previously worn by Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman before his transfer to Atletico Madrid. Rowe completed a club-record transfer from Bologna to Atalanta this week, valued at €40 million, which includes a loan fee, an obligation to buy, and add-ons, making him the most expensive signing in Atalanta’s history.

Rowe, 23, was born in London to Jamaican parents and has a football background that includes stints at AFC Wembley and Norwich City, where he made his senior debut at 17. He later joined Marseille in 2023 and Bologna in 2025.

Rowe expressed his admiration for Atalanta's family-run culture during his unveiling, highlighting the presence of president Antonio Percassi and chief executive Luca Percassi. The number 11 jersey holds significance at Atalanta, as Lookman wore it during his successful tenure, including a hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final.
