Timi Frank Appeals to Trump Over Alleged 2027 Election Rigging in Nigeria

Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a political activist, has raised alarm over an alleged plan by Nigeria's ruling party and the Senate President to manipulate the 2027 general election. Frank has appealed to the United States President, Donald Trump, to intervene to prevent the descent into chaos and authoritarianism in Nigeria.

He warned that failure to intervene could lead to unrest, violent conflict, and a breakdown of law and order. Frank accused the ruling party leadership and the National Assembly of plotting to entrench a one-party authoritarian state, describing it as political genocide against Nigerians.

He urged Trump and U.S. lawmakers to engage cautiously with the Nigerian government to avoid legitimizing an illegitimate and oppressive state, emphasizing that U.S. intervention could help preserve stability in West Africa's largest democracy. The Nigerian Senate recently passed electoral amendments that stirred controversy, particularly regarding electronic transmission of election results.
