SanlamAllianz Nigeria Pays N77bn in Claims for 2025

In the 2025 financial year, SanlamAllianz Nigeria, comprising SanlamAllianz Life Insurance and SanlamAllianz General Insurance, paid a total of over N77 billion in claims across its life and general insurance businesses. Tund Mimiko, CEO of SanlamAllianz Life, emphasized the company's financial strength and commitment to policyholders despite ongoing macroeconomic pressures in Nigeria, including inflationary impacts.

The company reported a gross written premium (GWP) increase to N81.39 billion in 2025 from N60.86 billion in 2024, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 33.7 percent. Mimiko noted that the rise in claims costs was reflective of the challenging economic environment.

Jacquelin Agwew, CEO of the general insurance business, highlighted that the ability to efficiently and transparently pay claims is a true measure of an insurance company's operational strength and financial resilience. The performance in 2025 showcased the advantages of the SanlamAllianz joint venture, leveraging global underwriting standards and local expertise.
