ADC Condemns Tinubu Over $9 Million US Lobbying Deal

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has strongly condemned Bola Tinubu over a $9 million US lobbying contract approved by the Nigerian government. The ADC described the deal as scandalous and indefensible, criticizing the government for prioritizing such expenditures during a time of heightened insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria.

The ADC argued that the significant sum could have been more effectively utilized to protect lives and alleviate the suffering of Nigerian citizens. The opposition party accused the government of neglecting critical issues and resorting to hiring lobbyists to improve Nigeria's international image instead of addressing the worsening security situation and economic challenges facing the country.

The ADC also criticized the government for attempting to frame the lobbying effort around protecting Christians, warning that such an approach could exacerbate sectarian tensions. Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, emphasized the need for public funds to be directed towards rebuilding trust in state institutions and safeguarding the lives of citizens.
