Audit Chiefs Urged to Enhance Cyber and Climate Resilience

During the ACAEBIN annual retreat held in Lagos, Aina Amah, the chairperson and chief audit executive, called on audit chiefs to strengthen cyber and climate resilience in response to emerging threats. She highlighted the rapid pace of digital innovation and the urgent need for digital readiness within the audit space.

Amah noted that over the last three years, the trend of digital innovation has increased, necessitating decisive action from members to mitigate risks associated with these innovations. Ibukun Beecroft from Deloitte Nigeria emphasized the importance of auditors in addressing climate sustainability risks, urging chief audit executives to enhance their expertise in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) assessments.

Chukwuemek Igabari from KPMG stressed the need for quality data to drive efficiency in internal audits, stating that without quality data, auditors cannot automate processes effectively.
