Nigerian Senate to Screen Newly Appointed Service Chiefs Amid Security Overhaul

The Nigerian Senate is scheduled to screen and confirm the newly appointed service chiefs nominated by President Buhari, including Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, Maj.

Gen. Waidi Shaibu, Rear Admiral Idi Abba, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Anek, Maj.

Gen. Emmanuel Undiendey, and others.

This development comes after a recent meeting between the President and the new military leadership in Abuja. The reshuffle is described as part of efforts to strengthen the nation's security architecture.

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, also hosted the new Chief of Defence Staff and three service chiefs at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja.
