Senator Karimi Launches N300m Bursary for Kogi Students

Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has launched a N300 million bursary scheme for indigenous students of Kogi State studying in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria. Announced in a statement on Thursday, this initiative is designed to support education and youth development while easing the financial strain on students and their families.

This bursary program marks the third phase of the initiative, with eligible students able to apply through an online portal starting August 20, 2026. The total amount of bursary awards to be disbursed is Three Hundred Million Naira (N300,000,000).

Senator Karimi emphasized that this effort aligns with the 'Renewed Hope Agenda' of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and is aimed at empowering Kogi State's youth. Students from public universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, and colleges of education are eligible, and applicants are advised to use conventional commercial bank accounts for disbursement.
