Initially thought to be Lara Fortes, his wife, the woman was later identified as Leshaan Dagama, a South African influencer known for adult-oriented content creation.

The video sparked widespread criticism in Nigeria, especially given the country's economic challenges. Oshiomhole's media office strongly denied the authenticity of the footage, labeling it as poorly edited and fake, possibly created to tarnish his reputation.
