Despite Senegal's oil production from the Sangomar field, the country still heavily relies on refined fuel imports to meet local demand. Nigeria's role in supplying crude oil to Senegal has been crucial in sustaining the Dakar Refinery's operations.

The report also highlights Senegal's ongoing dependence on foreign refined fuel imports, with plans for the Phase 2 Sangomar project to maintain steady output until 2027.
