SERAP Gives CBN 7-Day Ultimatum Over Missing N3 Trillion in Public Funds

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has given the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) a 7-day ultimatum to account for the missing N3 trillion in public funds. SERAP alleges serious financial breaches based on the Auditor General's 2022 report, including diversion of funds, failure to recover mismanaged funds, and lack of transparency in spending.

Olayemi Cardoso, on behalf of SERAP, warns of a lawsuit if the funds are not properly explained. The letter signed by Kolawole Oluwadare highlights violations of public trust and constitutional provisions, urging CBN Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, to disclose the whereabouts of the missing funds to the Nigerian public.
