Gunmen Kill Seven at Plateau Mining Site, Raising Security Concerns

Gunmen attacked a mining site in Kuru community, Plateau State, killing seven people and injuring several others. The incident is part of a series of violent attacks targeting miners in the region.

Emmanuel Solomon, a senior special assistant to the governor on artisan mining, confirmed the attack and emphasized the urgent need for government intervention to address the worsening insecurity. The Nigerian Forest Security Service and the Nigerian Police Force are investigating the incident.
