Shakira and Burna Boy to Perform at 2026 World Cup Opening

Colombian pop superstar Shakira and Nigerian afrobeat star Burna Boy will perform the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup during the opening ceremony scheduled for June 11, 2026, at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The performance will take place before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa.

The song, titled in Italian, translates to "let's go" and is intended to celebrate football's power to unite people across cultures. FIFA announced the performance, emphasizing the collaboration of influential music voices.

Additionally, Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin and South African singer-songwriter Tyla will also perform during the opening ceremony. The tournament will span across three host nations, including Canada, where Michael Bublé and Alanis Morissette will headline the opening match against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12, 2026.

American pop star Katy Perry and rapper Future are set to perform in Los Angeles when the United States faces Paraguay at Sofi Stadium.
