Nigerian VP Shettima Attends Guinea's President-elect Inauguration

Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima has landed in Guinea-Conakry to participate in the inauguration of President-elect Mamadi Doumbouya. The event marks the formal end of a four-year military transition following the December 2025 general election.

Shettima's presence reaffirms Nigeria's leadership role within ECOWAS and its commitment to restoring constitutional order in the region. The visit also seeks to enhance bilateral trade relations, with recent Nigerian exports to Guinea showing growth.

Shettima will later proceed to Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum's 56th annual meeting, focusing on dialogue and collaboration for global problem-solving.
