Tinubu Launches APC Campaign Council for 2027 Elections

On October 14, 2026, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for the upcoming 2027 general elections at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja. During the ceremony, Tinubu urged council members and party leaders to demonstrate unity, commitment, and discipline as the campaign progresses.

He acknowledged advice from Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, emphasizing the need to balance campaigning with governance. Vice President Kashim Shettima praised Tinubu's democratic history, referencing his support for Atiku Abubakar's 2007 presidential bid.

Shettima also criticized Atiku, labeling him disrespectful towards the presidency and accused him of using misleading statistics while comparing Nigeria to other nations without proper context. Uzodimma assured Tinubu of the commitment from governors and party leaders to effectively communicate the party's message to voters ahead of the elections.
