Nigerian Army Day Celebrated in Port Harcourt, Rivers State

The Nigerian Army Day celebration occurred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, culminating a week-long event themed "Protecting the Nation, Serving the People." Dignitaries included President Bola Tinubu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, and Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen.

Waidi Shaibu. The event, co-hosted by Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, attracted military chiefs and defense delegations from 16 African countries.

The grand finale featured various military drills, including a display of female commandos and helicopter rescue missions. A brief disruption occurred due to para shooters, but the event continued with a march past and awards presented by Vice President Kashim Shettima to distinguished military officers and civilians.

The celebration highlighted the Nigerian Army's readiness and capabilities, showcasing a range of military exercises and training.
