VP Shettima Praises Tinubu's Reforms: Fuel Subsidy Removal and Tax Restructuring

Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima commended President Bola Tinubu's administration for implementing bold reforms in Nigeria, including the removal of fuel subsidy and restructuring the tax system. Shettima described these reforms as courageous and necessary to address the country's structural weaknesses.

Since assuming office in May 2023, the administration has eliminated multiple exchange rates, restructured the tax system, and focused on fiscal discipline and economic liberalization. While these reforms have had positive impacts such as boosting macroeconomic stability and investor confidence, they have also led to challenges like high inflation.

Shettima emphasized the importance of transitioning to a knowledge-based economy to drive economic growth and development in Africa.
