Simeone Praises Lookman, Atlético Madrid After UCL Exit

Diego Simeone, the coach of Atlético Madrid, expressed his admiration for his team's performance and for Lookman following their UEFA Champions League exit against Arsenal FC. Atlético Madrid was eliminated with a 2-1 aggregate score after losing 1-0 in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium and drawing 1-1 at Wanda Metropolitano.

Bukayo Saka's goal in the 45th minute of the second leg secured Arsenal's place in the Champions League final for the first time in 20 years. Simeone refrained from criticizing his players during the post-match interview, instead praising their efforts and the club's support.

He acknowledged Arsenal's consistent financial strength and congratulated them on their deserved victory. He also noted that Mikel Arteta has done an incredible job with the team.

Lookman, who joined Atlético Madrid from Atalanta BC for a reported £35 million in the winter transfer window, made 14 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
