Singer Shatta Wale Interrogated, Granted Bail Over Lamborghini Linked To $4m Crime Proceeds In US

Ghanaian singer Shatta Wale was interrogated and granted bail by the Economic Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in connection to his ownership of a 2019 Lamborghini Urus linked to $4 million in crime proceeds in the United States. The vehicle was identified by the FBI and the US Justice Department as part of the proceeds of a crime involving a Ghanaian named Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving a jail term in the US.

EOCO's investigation is part of a wider collaboration with American authorities to uncover possible crimes in Ghana and recover proceeds. Shatta Wale claimed he purchased the car from an unidentified party, but EOCO found discrepancies in his story, including the lack of credible details about the purchase.

Despite being granted bail, the singer was unable to provide concrete evidence of the car's source. EOCO remains committed to working with international partners to ensure accountability and the recovery of criminal proceeds.
