Soludo Submits 17 Nominees for Anambra Cabinet

On Tuesday, Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State transmitted a list of four former commissioners and 13 new nominees to the Anambra State House of Assembly for consideration in his cabinet. Among the nominees is Esther Chinyer Onyekesi, who is proposed for the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and is notable for being the mother of Martin Ifesinachi Onyekesi, a fish seller murdered by gunmen during the 2025 governorship election.

The list was disclosed by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Dr. Somtochukwu Udez, through a statement signed by his Special Assistant on New Media, Mr.

Franklin Osankwa. The reappointed commissioners include Dr.

Afam Obidik for Health, Dr. Mefor for Information and Value Reform, and Mr.

Patrick Aghamba for Youth Development and Sports. The new nominees cover various sectors, including agriculture, education, and infrastructure.
