Soueast Launches SUV Line in Nigeria, Plans Local Assembly

Soueast formally entered the Nigerian market on Wednesday, courtesy of the Kewalram Chanrai Group, marking a significant shift in Nigeria's automotive landscape. The media launch included a test drive of the full range of SUVs along the scenic coastal highway in Lagos.

Mr. Anil Sahgal, Chief Operating Officer of the Mobility Division at Kewalram Chanrai Group, described this move as a strategic response to changing consumer expectations in Nigeria.

The group, with a 165-year reputation built on trust and consistent delivery, aims to grow demand for vehicles that combine modern design, safety technology, and durability. Soueast's approach includes a robust infrastructure with a structured dealership network and a skilled technical team, emphasizing a long-term investment strategy.

The company plans to commence local assembly of vehicles in the third quarter of 2026. The SUVs were designed with Nigerian road conditions and fuel efficiency in mind, addressing total cost of ownership and not just product launch.
