South Africa Faces FIFA 3 Points Deduction - Sports Minister Calls for Culprits' Punishment

FIFA overturned South Africa's victory against Lesotho due to fielding an ineligible player, Teboho Mokoena, during a match on March 21. The disciplinary committee's decision led to a 3-point deduction for South Africa, dropping them to second place in Group C.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) was also fined by FIFA. South Africa's Sports Minister, Gayton McKenzie, expressed regret over the incident and vowed to investigate further.
