South Korea Coach Moreno Denies ChatGPT Allegations

Robert Moreno, the interim coach of South Korea, has denied allegations that he relied on ChatGPT for match preparations during his tenure at Russian club Sochi. Addressing the claims on Monday, Moreno stated that while he utilizes technology, the reports about his reliance on ChatGPT were misrepresented.

He left Sochi in September 2025 after a series of poor results, with rumors suggesting he used ChatGPT for game preparations and player signings. Moreno described these allegations as “completely false.” He is now tasked with rebuilding the South Korean national team following the resignation of Hong Myung-bo after their unexpected group-stage exit from the World Cup in June.

Moreno will oversee four friendlies in September against Ecuador and Uruguay, followed by matches against Venezuela and Uzbekistan in October. The Korea Football Association indicated that he might remain in charge for the Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia next year, pending evaluation.

He has included captain Son Heung-min in his squad, highlighting his versatility.
