AAC Requests Aso Rock for Campaign Council Inauguration

The African Action Congress (AAC) has formally requested approval to use the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, for the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council scheduled for November 11, 2026. The request, dated October 21, 2026, was signed by AAC National Secretary Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena and shared by the party's presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore.

The AAC argues that granting this request would demonstrate the Presidency's commitment to fairness and equal access to public institutions, irrespective of political affiliation. The party noted that similar arrangements had been extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for their political activities.

The AAC is also seeking logistical support, including food and drinks, for the event. As of the time of reporting, the Presidency had not responded to the request.

This comes after Bola Tinubu, the President, inaugurated the APC Presidential Campaign Council on October 14, 2026, emphasizing the need for unity and commitment among party members ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
