Ademola Lookman Scores in Copa del Rey Final for Atletico

On Saturday, Ademola Lookman made history by becoming only the second Nigerian player to score in a Copa del Rey final during Atletico Madrid's match against Real Sociedad at Estadio de la Cartuja in Sevilla, Spain. Lookman equalized for Atletico Madrid after Ander Barrenetxea had given Real Sociedad an early lead within the first minute.

Despite Lookman's efforts, Atletico Madrid faced a devastating 3-2 defeat after penalties, following a 2-2 draw in regular time. Mikel Oyarzab converted a penalty for Sociedad to regain the lead at halftime.

Lookman, who was a key player throughout the second half, attempted to secure a second goal but hit the crossbar shortly after being substituted. His goal on Saturday further enhanced his impressive tally since transferring from Atalanta, where he accumulated seven goals and four assists in 18 appearances across competitions.

Lookman follows in the footsteps of Finidi George, who scored in the Copa del Rey final for Real Betis against Barcelona in 1997.
