Sporting Lagos Triumphs Over Ranchers Bees in NNL Opener

Sporting Lagos began their 2026 Nigeria National League Super 4 campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Ranchers Bees at Remo Star Stadium on Monday. The match saw Sporting Lagos create their first clear opportunity in the 17th minute when Seun Akanji found space in the final third, but his shot was saved by the Ranchers Bees goalkeeper.

Sporting Lagos maintained control of possession throughout the first half, with Aliyu Baba posing a threat in the attacking area. The breakthrough came in the 40th minute when Shola Oladunjoy combined effectively with Akanji, delivering a precise cross that allowed Alex Leme to head home.
