Stakeholders Push for .ng Domain Adoption in Nigeria

During the 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, stakeholders urged for the establishment of stronger policy frameworks to accelerate the adoption of .ng domain names among Nigerian businesses. Mr.

Adesola Akinsanya, President of NIRA, emphasized that the .ng domain serves as Nigeria's digital identity and is crucial for building trust in the internet ecosystem. Mr.

Oluwaseyi Onasanya, Chief Operating Officer of NIRA, highlighted the importance of creating a resilient and secure registry to support business innovation across Nigeria. The stakeholders specifically called for enhanced collaboration between NIRA and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to integrate .ng domain registration into the business incorporation and renewal processes.

Mr. Muham Rudman, a past president of NIRA, noted that the adoption of .ng domains among new businesses is driven by the need for coordinated policy frameworks that align with existing initiatives.
