Stakeholders Call for Urgent Intervention as Bandits Ravage Mineral-Rich Kogi Communities

Stakeholders in Kogi State, including the Bunu Development Association (BDA), have raised alarm over the escalating insecurity in mineral-rich communities. Over 21 out of 40 communities in the district have been attacked by bandits, resulting in deaths, kidnappings, and mass displacements.

President of BDA, Pastor Kolawole Johnson, highlighted the dire situation where residents are no longer safe on their farmlands and travel routes. The government's current interventions are deemed inadequate, leading to a plea for urgent security operations by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Yahaya Bello to halt the bandit activities.
