Safer Gaming Solutions in Africa: Stakeholders Unite for Player Protection

Stakeholders in the gaming industry gathered in Abuja to pledge towards creating safer gaming solutions in Africa. The virtual meeting, led by advocacy group GambleAware NG and moderated by Gabriel Akpabio, aimed to promote actionable and locally grounded initiatives for player protection.

Participants from 12 countries discussed the importance of trust, regulatory compliance, and responsible gaming to ensure the sustainability and legitimacy of the industry. The event emphasized the need for collective commitment to policy and technology partnerships to foster a safe gaming environment across the continent.

Lagos State's approach to promoting safe play and combating unlicensed operators was highlighted as a model for other regions to follow.
